This area is located in North West Powys, within the Maldwyn Constituency. This is the bottom of the Dyfi Valley, bordering Ceredigion and the only part of Powys that extends to the sea. It stretches from Derwenlas to Uwch y Garreg, Aberhosan and towards Penegoes to the outskirts of Machynlleth. This is the countryside at its best - the area with the highest percentage of Welsh speakers in Powys with a buzz of social and cultural life. Its population is scattered, agriculture is the main employer - it is an area worth visiting and it stretches from the sea to the mountains.
